What is the Royal Peacock logo?

The Royal Peacock Logo

The Royal Peacock logo is the official certification trademark of Thai silk.

Official Certification

Thai silk can be made to meet any of the four Royal Peacock standards. Quite independently, the silk can also be certified to meet the particular standard it is made to meet. A Thai government silk inspector inspects the actual fabric being certified. If the fabric meets the standard, individually numbered seals with the Royal Peacock logo are placed at every meter along the length of the fabric as proof of certification.

What Mizpah Silk Makes

Mizpah Silk weaves all its silk by hand to meet the standards of the Blue Peacock, the Silver Peacock or the Gold Peacock. By default, silk is woven to meet the Blue Peacock standard. As the standard increases from Blue Peacock through Silver Peacock to Gold Peacock, the amount of workmanship required also increases. Mizpah Silk does not weave silk that fits the standard of the Green Peacock as the Green Peacock is for fabric that includes fibres other than silk.

Your Choice

You may choose to have the silk you order made to meet the standards of the Blue Peacock, the Silver Peacock or the Gold Peacock. If you do not choose anything, the silk will meet the Blue Peacock standard, but will not be formally certified. Formal certification adds an additional cost per meter. Higher levels of certification add greater cost per meter.
